Job Title:             Editorial Manager
Reporting To:     Vice President, PR
Department:      Communications
Location:             Santa Monica, CA
 
Your Mission
As Editorial Manager, you will be leading the editorial strategy and content for the Activision Games Blog and @Activision on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. You will work closely with digital, marketing, brand, public relations and studio teams to develop engaging editorial content that tells the story of our games and the teams making them.
  • Develop, direct and execute the editorial strategy for content about Activision games on the Activision channels
  • Lead editorial team, including writers and creators, to develop content for our editorial and social channels
  • Collaborate closely with PR, marketing, digital, studio, experiential and international teams to craft original content
  • Maintain and communicate the voice and vision for Activision’s owned channels
  • Drive internal editorial blog, streaming and social media calendars
  • Develop and execute streaming strategy
  • Draft and manage copywriting and editing of editorial content
  • Lead and manage social media strategy for Activision channels
  • Ensure the quality of content across editorial channels
  • Coordinate contributions from content creators across the company
  • Participate in major industry events, as well as game-specific activities
  • Direct the evolution of owned editorial channels
  • Work closely with global partners to deliver timely and inclusive content
  • Share stories and milestones about Activision’s gaming history
  • Actively listen to and engage with the community
Player Profile
  • BA/BS in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, English or Journalism preferred
  • At least 4-6 years of related Public Relations or Journalism experience in the video game or related industries
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with a distinct editorial voice
  • A passion for our games
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful editorial programs for brands or media outlets
  • Distinct editorial voice and approach to content
  • Wide range of content experience including long-form and short-form copy, video and visuals
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial approach
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize deadlines
  • Capacity to manage freelance contributors
  • Project management experience, including multiple projects and editorial calendars
  • Brand, editorial or narrative experience across social media
  • Proficiency in livestreaming
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external audiences
  • Team player with the ability to adapt, and work in rapidly changing environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion as appropriate
  • Ability to work directly with a variety of stakeholders
