The Employment Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and administering all elements of the employment screening and review processes, including the background check process. This includes management of applicable vendors.



  • Work with cross-functional groups to ensure reported information is sensible, accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Review resumes, applications, and background check information for consistency
  • Review background reports for approval and escalation
  • Work with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources teams to assist with resolving discrepancies
  • Perform general social media and internet searches
  • Provide recommendations to Management, etc. on how to improve service delivery
  • Track errors identified during the background screening process
  • Provide regular progress reports to Management, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources teams
  • Manage the escalation process of issues that arise
  • Other duties as assigned



  • 5-6 years’ experience in employment background administration in a mid to large size organizations; prior investigation skills is a plus
  • Experience in project and program managment
  • Ability to work under deadlines (experience in production environment a plus)
  • Familiarity with FCRA and state compliance a plus
  • Excellent research skills (Investigative research or paralegal, experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong familiarity with the internet and Boolean searches
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High discretion and judgement skill is a must
  • Bachelor's degree preferred - specialization in Criminal Justice/Political Science a plus, or equivalent demonstrated work experience
