Your Mission

The Senior Insights Analyst, International will support the Business Units, International Leadership Team and the MCI group with research and insight programmes that facilitate speed and accuracy of decision making across International markets.  In this role, you will be accountable for creating, leading and analysing research projects that make a difference to the business. 

This will be achieved by identifying research needs and priorities, managing both Qualitative and Quantitative consumer research projects and offering strong decision-making support to the business. Key to success is being able to manage and analyse data, translate this into actionable insights and communicate at all levels across International so this drives decision in the business.  

This role includes but is not limited to the following tasks/duties*:

Deliver actionable Qual and Quant research projects that drive change:

  • Ensure Qualitative and Quantitative research projects answer International business needs and provide actionable insights that will drive business decisions;
  • You will be responsible for managing research projects from design to completion. This will include identifying, prioritising and challenging the needs of the business to set clear research objectives and goals. You will manage the entire research process in collaboration with the Global consumer insights team to ensure that the International business needs are being met. You will provide thought leadership in the development of reports, so they provide the most compelling insights across market that will drive the maximum impact. 

Tracking campaign performance by franchise:

  • Manage franchise research studies from design to delivery to provide actionable insights. This could include, but not be limited to brand tracking, communications, pricing, concept testing, positioning, pricing, segmentation etc across multiple International markets;
  • Ensure KPI’s are ingrained within the business by delivering the necessary data and information into key stakeholders efficiently and effectively. This will include working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities as franchises move through the campaign. Work in partnership with the Activision US CI team and research agency to ensure the survey is asking the right questions that will deliver data that is going to generate actionable insights; 
  • Work with the research agency and Global consumer insight team to develop the International report so it delivers the key metrics and in-depth analysis by country. Present the report to the International BU and MCI team to develop the actions that will then be presented to each of the International markets.

Driving category analysis and consumer trends:

  • Drive category analysis & consumer trends across markets to generate insights & implications for the business;
  • Manage and leverage the Gametrack research service across the International business to provide deeper analysis and actionable insights. This will include analysing the data to identify market and consumer trends and integrating this with other insights to develop a complete view of business performance. It will be important that you maximise the analytical support provided by the research vendor to drive deeper analysis that will lead to actionable insights that drive decisions;
  • You will also be responsible for managing the Gametrack relationship which includes attending regular meetings with the research vendor and with other subscribers in the steering group meetings. You will be the advocate for Activision in these meetings to ensure that the Gametrack service is continuing to be relevant to the business. 

Insight Integration:

  • Partner with Business Intelligence to deliver integrated insights using multiple data sources including player, sales and market data;
  • In partnership with the Senior Director Business Intelligence, Territory Analysts and Senior BI Analyst, International Insights you will be responsible for driving projects that integrate insights from multiple data sources to drive deeper, more holistic insights and decision making across the business. These projects will be identified on a regular basis and will all drive deeper insights and understanding by leveraging insights across multiple areas (CI, BI & Engagement) and lead to better decision making.

Expand the consumer insights footprint:

  • Expand the consumer insight footprint into new markets and across new platforms as business strategies change;
  • Identify market research needs and priorities, based on the International business strategy and business needs. Develop foundational research in new markets and across new platforms to inform the International business strategy. Working in collaboration with senior stakeholders you will be responsible for delivering insights that identify cultural differences and market trends, in order for the business to tailor its marketing programmes across franchises.

Alignment with Global HQ in Santa Monica:

  • Partner with the Global Consumer Insights team at Headquarters in Santa Monica to align all projects and ensure International needs are met in all research projects;
  • Collaborate with the consumer insights team in 3100 on all Global research projects to ensure International business needs are being met. This will include working on the research brief, selecting the agency through to designing the survey and developing the final report so it identifies consistent global themes and country differences. You be responsible for presenting the report to senior stakeholders and mapping how it will drive action across the business.

Develop new ways of working and thinking:

  • Develop new ways of working and thinking to ensure that consumer insights continue to meet changing business needs
  • Proactively seek out best practice and apply innovative research and insight techniques to improve insight quality, team efficiency and ways of working. Identify new research approaches and methodologies that will provide innovative insight solutions for the business. This will include expanding the pool of research agencies who are more International, delivering new tools and frameworks that continues to make you a thought partner and research a core capability within the business.

Manage research agencies:

  • Manage relationships with International research vendors and explore new vendor opportunities;
  • Accountable for the brief, supplier relationship and contractual management and quality of work commissioned by primary and secondary research agencies. This includes managing the day-to-day relationship on tracking studies and maintaining relationships with strategic research partners.
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis                                   

Player Profile

  • Degree or equivalent in a related subject, or equivalent experience;
  • Previous experience at a research agency strongly desired;
  • Excellent quantative skills;
  • Strong ability to build strategy recommendations based on data;
  • Interest and aptitude in interpreting numbers/data in context of answering business questions; 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; 
  • Should be able to handle various pressure situations and workload through proper work balance, prioritisation and delegation;
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining adherence to deadlines;
  • Expert in Excel;
  • Experience of extracting/manipulating data from various tools/sources;
  • Previous experience in / interest in gaming strongly desired;
  • Confident presenting to senior level executives;  
  • ‘Have done, can do, will do’ approach;
  • Pragmatic thinker, not afraid to work outside the box, take initiative and have hands on involvement;
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues at all levels within Activision, and to actively communicate with key stakeholders including territories and HQ;
  • A high degree of accuracy, care and attention to detail.

Based in Ditton Park, our Campus houses a number of great amenities as well as transport links. The Parkland settings offer; tennis courts, an onsite gym, canteens and cafes, etc. It is conveniently close to Junction 5 of the M4 giving a direct links to central London, the M25 and Heathrow airport. Free shuttle buses also run from both Slough and Datchet train stations.
