Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, Sr. Payroll Administrator performs data in a variety of specialized functions to effectively support and administer Payroll with complex compensation packages. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of payroll, technical and communication skills, as well as experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal/external customer. In addition, input, verification and reconciliation, record maintenance, audit and internal and external reporting of certain payroll related information, for a large North America division of the company.  This is a high volume payroll center located in Santa Monica, California.

Activision Blizzard is the umbrella organization over Activision and Blizzard Entertainment, providing corporate shared services, such as Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Accounting, Facilities and Sales.
 
You will be responsible for payroll processing activities, including the following:
  • Display payroll operational best practices with regards to bi-weekly payroll functions.
  • Process payroll and maintain payroll information as required.
  • Data entry adjustments for all time and attendance and personnel transactions (i.e. new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, direct deposit, W-4 elections, state withholding certificates, etc.) into payroll system (Ultipro).
  • Vendor transactions including, flexible spending, 401(k), etc.
  • State and Federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations.
  • Gross to net calculation, audit and balancing.
  • Document workflow and work procedures.
  • Cross-train designated back-up to administer and process time and attendance and payroll.
  • Input other payroll data into Ultipro pay worksheets
  • Validate/audit hours from timekeeping system (new hires, LOA)
  • Selected processing of final payouts and preparation of manual check back-up and routing for approvals
  • Preparing and creating standard and ad hoc reports
  • Run audit reports from Report Writer tool and assist in audit and payroll balancing procedures
  • Assist with wage garnishments
  • Ensuring prompt identification and resolution to potentially complex payroll issues.
  • Prepare and send certain information to internal and external parties as required
  • Performs standard control procedures and maintains payroll related records
  • Display good communication skills to ensure customer service standards are met.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding pay issues
  • Assist with other payroll related special projects, including internal and external audit requests
  • Support payroll manager including, preparation of documents, and follow-up on timelines and deliverables.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • BA in Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience including strong knowledge of payroll related subject matters, process flows and analysis
  • FPC or CPP certification or actively preparing to take qualified examination highly advantageous
  • 4+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience with payroll policies and procedures with regards to payroll labor calculation of pay, garnishments/liens, and stock income reporting
  • Experience with the payroll of large companies, employee database of 4,000 or more
  • Strong experience in development of efficiencies in payroll processes and internal controls
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and meet deliverables with minimum supervision
  • In-depth knowledge of US tax payroll regulations and reporting requirements, including current federal and multi-state payroll taxes
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent discipline in time management, attention to detail, and analysis
